Its only been a few days since Stephi rolled but oh my goodness that baby does not stay still!
Now its an almost instant thing for her to roll onto her tummy as soon as she goes down on the floor. From there she can rotate around on her belly to look at anything that is interesting
And far out! As I'm typing this she is pushing up onto her knees! And there's some forward progress albeit with her head being pushed into the mat!
Earlier this afternoon we had some outside time. I put her down on a picnic blanket and she was almost immediately rolling off the edge of it and eating grass. At least after tomorrow it won't be so long that she can get lost in it!
This littlest girl really doesn't want to stay a baby

Post pregnancy hair loss
OMG has it hit me with a vengeance.... I am so sick of cleaning up bits of my hair from EVERYWHERE!
You can see where I sit on the couch because there is hair all around this seat. You can tell when I've had a shower because the plug hole is full of hair. You can tell when I've run my hands through my hair and where because there are strands of hair everywhere.
I actually think its the worst I've ever had so hopefully it will finish soon - before I go bald!

Time to change doctors.... again
Right now I am feeling rather pissed off and also a touch upset. When we moved back to WA in 2005 we started going to a new medical centre as the previous one had rude staff and we could never get appointments. The new one was also much closer to home.
As of today I have had enough. Over the 4 years that we've been going there we have had a number of issues - booking in for vaccinations and stating this at time of booking only to get there, wait 2 hours and find there is no nurse on that day so can't have vaccinations done; personal information being left on the front counter where other patients are standing and able to read it; stuffed up appointments etc etc.
Today was my final straw. I took Stephi in last week to get checked up after she was very chesty for a while and making no improvement. The doctor who saw her had seen her the week before when she had her vaccinations and thought her chest sounded fine then but reluctantly looked her over again and eventually discovered a red and distended ear drum so prescribed antibiotics and told us to come back in a week.
As I left the surgery I spoke with reception and booked an appt for Thursday - I remember very clearly saying that it would have to be Thursday as that meant I only had to take 2 children along rather than all three and it was the closest to being a week after the last appt. She confirmed the time with me and wrote it on a slip of paper which I promptly stuffed into my purse.
I turn up at the allocated time this morning and stand waiting for a few minutes. One receptionist is on the phone and another receptionist is doing her best to ignore any patients who may need her attention - nothing quite like pretending to be busy and then looking shitty when you actually have to do your job. Anyway, I say the appt is for Stephi and the name of the doctor and the appt time and she looks over the computer. Eventually says something about the surname being Forrester (ie Bold and the Beautiful) and I say "no, Forster" and spell it out to which she rolls her eyes and huffs. THen she says "your appt was yesterday so you've missed it"!!!!!
I tell her that I specifically made the appt for Thursday as it was the only day I could come and she says "well what does it say on the card" I tell her I haven't looked at the card because I know I asked for an appt on Thursday and she says "well there's nothing today - you can come tomorrow" in this rude, surly, bitchy tone.
At this point I'm seriously pissed off and once again state that I can't come tomorrow, I made the appt for today because it was the only day I could come and leave.
Now, this practice has a policy of charging for missed appointments so if I should get an invoice in the mail I can tell you exactly what my response will be. I will be writing a letter of complaint about the reception staff as I've had enough of their rudeness. There is only one who is pleasant and she unfortunatley wasn't there today.
I have to start searching for another practice now and have no idea where to begin. I want somewhere that bulk bills children but more importantly somewhere that I can get fairly quick appointments and that is fairly local as well. I hate having to start all over again but I've had enough.
Not only are the reception staff rude but I feel the doctor we now see is too quick to want to give antibiotics. At one point when I had Stephi in there at barely 3 months he had no idea what was wrong with her so just thought he'd write a script for antibiotics.....
The doctor we were seeing there before has now died (another situation where the staff were incredibly rude - the way I was told was nothing short of despicable) but he used to always run at least an hour late and mostly 2 hours late. He also had no idea how to use the computer system so was always "bloody thing" and "blast it" ing the thing every time he tried to do something. We would spend 40 mins in for a 10 min consult because he coulnd't get the computer to work. He was also fairly happy to be told what you thought and would run with that!
We've also seen a lady doctor at the practice and she was ok but seemed too busy to "waste" time on patients!
No idea where to begin looking but might chat with our neighbours soon and see where they go as they have young children as well
Big vent!

Two in a row
Dare I even say it?
Last night was as good, if not better than the night before for sleep. Ok, so it took a little longer for them all to settle but I didn't have to go and speak to the big girls except to tell them reading time was over as I put Stephi to bed. I think they were all asleep again by 7.30 or just after - I can't be sure as I couldn't hear much over the things I was doing so they could have been chatting and playing quietly.
I remembered to leave Ash her drink bottle as I went to bed so there was no need for her to get up looking for that.
Stephi slept until 3.34 so I got an extra minute on her! LOL
Gabi made a little noise at 11.25 and then slept until 5.40 and then a quick cuddle feed and back to bed until nearly 7
Ash slept through until nearly 7 as well and only got up after calling out for me to come and see her in bed - she wanted to show me that she was laying ACROSS the bed trying to sleep... half of her hanging off the side. She looks and seems so much happier today. Yesterday she tripped 3 times while we were walking to kindy. The final time was right at the corner of the yard on the path and she burst into tears and wailing. Cuddles and checking her hands and knees and she was able to put on her happy face but was obviously very tired. I mentioned to her teachers aid so they kept an eye on her during the day. I asked her teacher how she went at pick up time and she did say that she played very quietly during outside time but had otherwise been fine.
So I'm really hoping this is the beginning of getting decent sleep again. Amazing how different I feel today after two nights of at least a few hours sleep in a block. Last night I reckon I even managed over 4 hours in one block! I'm hoping to get a chance to properly clean floors today, especially since Gabi dropped her hot chocolate cup this morning and the lid flew off!

Looking up song lyrics
I'm in full party planning mode at the moment for Gabriella. The idea of having a frog party for her came from her love of the Little Green Frog song. Her face lights up when you start singing it and now she knows most of it to sing along.
Tonight I thought I would look up the song lyrics as I've seen a few variations around. Amazing how many different versions there can be for one song.
Anyway, the funniest lyrics are here:

And another for amusement:

I can tell I'm goign to be singing it in my sleep tonight!

So THAT's what it feels like
Sleep, in all its dreamy goodness, returned to my house last night. All three girls in bed and asleep by 7.30 and me by 9.30
Ashleigh came in once saying she didn't have her water bottle (I meant to find it as I went to bed but forgot) That was 11.25
At 3.33 I was woken by Starving Stephi but I think I was asleep again the moment she was snuggled up in my bed. I woke again at 5.48 and put her back in her bed. I fell asleep again listening to her chat to herself
6.53 I woke again to hear the other girls getting up. Gabriella actually slept through! Nearly 12 hours straight from her and she seems full of energy and mischief this morning!

Proud mumma day
I can't remember if I've blogged about this in the past so had best lay the foundations for today's moment of pride....
Over the school holidays Ashleigh attended an open day type thing at a nearby gymnastics place. Her cousin desperately wanted her to go with her (her cousin attends this school) and we'd thought if nothing else it would be fun. At the end of the 2 hour session Ashleigh was sent home with a note about State Development group saying that she had demonstrated a talent with gymnastics.
I rang last Monday and spoke with a lady about it. One of the first things she told me was that not everyone got these notes and in fact, over the school holidays, they'd had about 80 kids through and only 8 were given these notes! That was enough to start me feeling pretty proud of our big girl.
So she went along last Monday for her first lesson and was to be tested at that time (not sure if they did or not but she had fun). She went again today and has come home with a merit certificate for "forward roll on bars"
I'm so proud of her and how well she has taken to this. She seems to be thriving and absolutely loving it at the same time. Its also helped with her appetite! She has eaten so much since getting home and I'm hoping she will have a lovely long sleep tonight too
