2.5 HOURS!

So much for my dream of sleeping in this morning... my day started earlier than normal - much earlier.

I woke around 2.50 to hear G making some noises and start to grizzle. I thought I'd try to usual settle of putting her dummy back in and laying her back down (was standing up at the side of the cot by the time I went in)

2 mins later, if that, I was back in again to try to cuddle approach - cuddle, dummy back in, lay down

A few minutes later back in again where she pulls out her dummy and says "boo" quite dramatically meaning "feed me and feed me now" She hasn't had a feed overnight in MONTHS

So... cuddles in our bed and a feed. Half an hour passes and I think she's dozing off so up we get again and trek back to put her in bed again

After each visit to her I've then had to go to the loo - psychosomatic yeah but wouldn't be an issue if I was asleep! LOL

Trek off to the loo and by the time I get there she is crying again. Not just a little whimper but full blown "I want my mummy and I want her now" crying

On and off until about 4 when I give up and take her out to the lounge, turn the light on and we have a "chat" She is still miserable but perks up a little when she finds some books to read

Keeps demanding "boo"... I keep refusing as I'm tender and not used to night feeds anymore

I end up in tears and am sobbing while SMSing hubby to have some company in my misery. She just looks at me and goes back to reading then demands a tissue when I get some for myself

Keep trying all sorts of things and end up deciding to try some Demazin. Sure, not really recommended for under 2's these days but she's had it before on prescription and I figure it might help her to settle. She'd already had Bonjella, nappy change, lots of cuddles, "boo" etc etc

Back to bed after Demazin and she gets more "boo" I finally notice that she's really dozy and put her back to bed..... Its now 5.15

Crawl back to bed myself and have to unwind. Finally sleep. Wake to children and scrabble to find phone to check time... 7.20. Woohoo - I got a total of about 5 hours sleep

To say I'm exhausted today is an understatement. Thankfully any moment now daddy should walk through the door and I can go and hide under a rock... for an hour until my MW appt

I am now feeling really worried about how I'm going to cope with 3 kids. If I had a husband who was at home it wouldn't be such an issue but knowing that I'll basically be a single mum from the start is really worrying me now. One of the main reasons for my total melt down in the early hours of this morning

Oh sleep, oh sleep, wherefore art thou sleep?

A couple of hours ago I was feeling really tired and sleepy and ready for bed. So I did the right thing, finished watching something on tv and headed for bed.... Only to IMMEDIATELY have to get up and clear my head! The moment there was silence in the house it seems my brain went into overdrive

Now I sit here at nearly 11pm wondering why I feel so very alert and trying to work out if there is anything else I can get out my head to help me settle.

Of course, in the quiet of the night I am noticing things that I've not noticed before.... The first one being that my belly breaths. Ok, that may seem obvious but what I mean is that this baby has been moving in a rhythmic manner that looks like breathing. Totally freaking. I've also noticed just how much up in my ribs they are again. Trying to send mumma crazy with all this up and down stuff!

I am desperately hoping that tomorrow morning sees the girls sleeping in. I don't have to get up to an alarm so hope they sleep longer as well. It will be nice to swan around a bit in the morning instead of having to keep an eye on the clock. I do have a "to do" list for the morning but its fairly short:

* Get up late (everything crossed that this one can be crossed off some time AFTER 7am)
* Make cake - have been inspired by all the people blogging about the lovely things they are making so pulled out a cookbook today and found a chocolate fudge cake recipe that I'm going to have a go at. Ashleigh requested chocolate cake (and she's chief assistant)
* Go and check mail box
* Come home and possibly ice cake.... going to try to NOT have to make hideously coloured icing but may just allow sprinkles ;)
* Consider putting some washing through (one really does need underwear.....)
* Quick house tidy

Found out late today that hubby gets home at lunch time NOT in the evening as I had thought and I have a MW appt at 1 as well as a friend coming to visit in the arvo. Hopefully the girls are on their best behaviour tomorrow cos it would be nice to get things done smoothly

Work is FINISHED!

Yesterday was my official last day of work.... however, since then I've done another 8 plus hours! A nice little leaving bonus though when I have doubled my work hours for the fortnight with being able to take stuff home with me.

You see, some of the other doctors who work with the sleep lab get us to type their sleep studies. Its a long job by the time you do all the data entry and then the dictaphone typing but worked perfectly for me the last few weeks. Last night I typed for 4 hours and then this morning I did another nearly 3 hours of data entry! It was then time to head into the office to print out the reports and then take them over ready to be given back to the doctors. Its so nice to look on that top shelf and see a tiny pile of things that need doing. Not that its my problem anymore but I like the sense of accomplishment that comes with seeing all that work done

Anyway, yesterday..... I got in nice and early thinking that I would get ahead. Oh boy was I wrong! It was chaos from the moment I stepped through the door - the phones were all ringing, patients coming and going, letters needing to be typed urgently, test results that were urgent etc etc. Poor Deb was frazzled by the time I got there and the morning just kept going downhill. Thankfully the early morning chaos finally settled and we all ended up getting some work done. I was really pleased to see how quickly I could get through the pile of typing and before I knew it it was nearly lunch time.

I debated whether to have an early lunch or do one more tape and the tape won. That was such a bad move! The first side of the tape was a breeze but when I turned it over the static/wind/whatever was phenomenal and I could barely make out a lot of it. It took an hour and lots of playing back and forwards to finish what would normally have taken maybe 20 minutes.

Highlight of the day would have to be the phone call I took from a new patient. She wanted to make an appt but got all huffy when I had to put her on hold. I don't normally answer the phones - I'm there to type - but as it was so chaotic I was trying to help Deb out. So I find the next available appt for this woman and go back to the phone line. Its April.... he's a specialist so its really no surprise that you're looking 6 weeks ahead. I tell her "the next avail is x date" and she says "is that the NEXT avail" Insert heavy eye roll here. Her tone was rather nasty and clipped and she was impatient. OH yeah, she'd rung a few moments before and her phone had dropped out so when I had answered the second call she says "can you hear me now" in a really nasty tone. Anyway, I asked her if she could hold for a moment so that I could check the time and she says very huffily "this is costing me a fortune - I'm ringing from my mobile!" Sorry love but if you want to book an appt and don't want to be charged a large mobile call then TRY RINGING FROM A LAND LINE! I don't know if she expected to just be told come tomorrow at 10 and not give any details.... So she decided she'd ring back from work "I'll just take that appt and ring back from work" I had to tell her that if someone else rang in the meantime we couldn't hold the appt open for her without her details and she once again huffed at me

Thankfully when she rang back I didn't take the call but I could tell almost instantly who Deb was speaking to and had to giggle. Thankfully, I'd warned Deb about the attitude but she was still astounded by the rudeness.

We did have some very lovely patients sitting in the waiting room who had a little chuckle about how rude and self important this woman sounded. Needless to say her request for a cancellation will most likely be ignored! LOL

So that was the nasty part of the day

A lovely part of the day - one of the sleep centre doctors ringing to thank me very much for all my hard work getting his typing up to date *blush* It was almost indecent how much he praised me but oh so nice at the same time. Lucky I could fit out the door after that! He topped it off by sending over a card and box of chocolates as a thank you and good luck gesture

And THAT would explain why I did an extra 8 hours of work overnight! I figured it was worth doing when I got paid in chocolate!

During the afternoon we had lemon meringue pie and ice cream as celebratory/farewell cake and then I was given a gorgeous bunch of flowers as I left

This is why I keep going back to work for this guy. Its nice to feel appreciated for what I do. I understand that its not an essential in life but in past jobs I've been taken for granted and had things expected of me that just weren't fair - ie taking on a THIRD role when I was already doing my own plus another during holidays and someone walked out! I was working 16+ hour days and got to the skinniest I have been since primary school during that time. A few months later I quit. Or there's the boss who I had to make a complaint to DOCEP about in order to get my entitlements when I left and then had to hand my superannuation complaints on to the tax office. That finally got paid nearly 12 months ago - I haven't worked for him in nearly 6 years!

So now that I've caught up on all the sleep studies and returned them to work I feel like I really am finished (although obviously had a lot that needed to get out of my head!) I had a terrible sleep last night so I'm hoping I can relax this evening and we all sleep better. I just need long enough before this baby arrives to catch up on a little sleep so that I can function okay in those first few frantic weeks

Oh yes, I've been told that when I'm ready to look for work again that I should call them up but in the meantime I need to keep in touch and make sure I go in once the baby has arrived so that they can all meet him/her. I guess I've basically been guaranteed a job for as long as they have something available and with changes afoot there is likely to be more work. I was almost tempted to suggest I could continue working from home but thought I'd hold that one in reserve for now and see how things go with being a mum of three *wub*

The week that was.... definitely a ramble

So much for this blogging caper - the best of intentions and all.....

At least I have made it back

I had another midwife appt yesterday and as per usual a lovely session of chatting and a boring report back! Blood pressure still fantastic at 95/60, no swelling this week and all else going well. Seems that Bub has decided to continue with this engaging caper and was 2/5 above today.... Never had that happen with either of the girls so will be interesting to see when things actually start to happen. Technically we have anywhere between 1 and 3 weeks depending on due dates.

My MW was quite funny and kept "suggesting" that any time now would be good. I clearly told her and my student MW that NOTHING was happening until after the 27th. Please let that be the way it goes! LOL Hubby doesn't get back from site until then and I'd like to feel at least a little organised seeing as I've still done nothing towards preparing clothes etc and the cot is currently being used to store all manner of crap in our bedroom! We also don't have the second car seat yet but at least I have now spoken with mum about it! She'll bring it up whenever she comes up

So I now have the birth pool, something that Ashleigh has been asking about ALL week! She is so excited about the "bubba in your tummy's" arrival now. She keeps wanting to know when it will come and I've been explaining to her that it will be some time after daddy gets home - 7 sleeps for that now. I'm just hoping that she doesn't expect it to happen the instant he arrives!

I still have a few things to sort out ready for the birth but at least have some ticks on the list now. I know where some things are that I need to have ready so just need to put them all together in one place. I guess the other thing is to pack some sort of hospital bag. I think I'm avoiding doing it as its one of those psychological things - if its done then I might need it, if its not then all will be fine!

I did buy an outfit this week but the only one I could find was a girl one (I was looking in the el cheapo rack at Big W though) It does mean I need to find a boy outfit as well and then also something warm. Hubby reminded me though that it doesn't matter because their first outfit will be the same one both of their sisters wore after birth
And I was going to share photos but my external hard drive has decided to play games

Something else I need to dig out and get organised!

Last night I had an awful night. I went to bed probably over-full and couldn't settle. I then kept feeling like I was going to be sick and Mylanta, half a glass of milk and brushing my teeth made no difference. I kept settling back in bed again only to have to waddle as fast as I could back to the toilet. I had intended to take a bucket in with me but had forgotten by the time I left the loo again! I did eventually go to sleep and probably got almost 6 hours so am thankful the girls both decided to sleep last night. Have felt pretty crap all day today after waking with a headache and have had to contend with tantrums as well. So don't have the patience for that today.

Monday is my last day of work and therefore the girls' last day of daycare. I feel sad about it for Gabriella as I can see how much she is loving it. When I got there last Monday she was in the most fabulous mood and dancing away to the music they had on. She saw me come in and wasn't even phased that I was there! She was just happy to keep dancing. Ashleigh is ready to finish up though. For her, being told that Monday was daycare was a disappointment. She just wanted to go to kindy. It will be interesting to see how she goes this coming week with daycare on Monday then her first full day of kindy on Tuesday. Thankfully that won't happen again but I'm expecting a very tired girl by Tuesday night. Just have to hope the behaviour doesn't flair up again - today's 30 minute tantrum was hard enough to deal with

So I see my midwife again on Friday and we'll know more from there. I have everything crossed that Bub doesn't decide to make an arrival before then but am not too concerned as I'm sure they are still moving around a LOT. I have had quite a few times where I've not been able to sit comfortably because they are so high up in my ribs. I think finding them 2/5 above yesterday was just luck of the draw! Today they would probably be free again!

Pregnancy bits and pieces

Its been a week of bits and pieces for this pregnancy as well as lots of other stuff as already posted about.

Wednesday afternoon saw us visiting a friend who did a maternity shoot for me. It was a wonderful giggly, chatty session with her asking me what I wanted and me asking her what she wanted. Not much help to each other really but it was lots of fun. I'm looking forward to seeing the outcome of it all and how she went with the major issue.... me having to wear glasses! I've learnt a few things from it though - a photographer's eye will notice that you don't iron and its way more fun to be bossed around than to make decisions for yourself! LOL

Wednesday night was wonderful with my blessingway/baby shower. A lovely group of 6 of us at a wonderful friend's house. Her hubby even popped in and out a few times. It was such a nice evening of chatting, munching and drinking. I feel very lucky to have such a great bunch of friends. One of them even did a henna tattoo on my belly amidst the giggles and movement of Bub. She had quite a job at times with her moving target but did an amazing job.

Just home after having it done

I ended up driving home with my shirt tucked up into my bra so that the henna could dry. As I was leaving someone wished that I would be pulled over by a booze bus or the like but sorry to disappoint, it didn't happen! I'm also glad that hubby's friend had left before I got home as I would have felt a bit uncomfortable walking into my house with my guts hanging out if he'd been here!

I left a trail backwards and forwards through the house as I got up and down overnight from the henna crusting off and the bed was full of it! Hubby had to vacuum the next day and we also had to change sheets as it just felt scratchy!

With the crust removed the next day

And two big girls cuddling their baby

Thursday saw me meeting my secondary midwife for the first official time. She was lovely but it wasn't the same as my meetings with my primary midwife. Those meetings are long and chatty where as this one was more to the point although nice all the same. Its not like she was rude or anything, I guess its more about having a rapport with my primary (and my student midwife). It was nice to meet her and to go through her role for the delivery and she made an impression on hubby with her parting comment. It was something along the lines of "birth beautifully" which to me just sounds so peaceful and perfect

The outcome of the visit was that my BP is still fantastic 100/60 this week and at that point of the day Bub was 3/5 above. Earlier I had been driving and found it quite uncomfortable as Bub felt really high but obviously in the hour between driving and being palpated Bub had moved down! It will be interesting to see what next week brings. I've had some slight swelling but difficult to judge also as I'd not long before they arrived washed the dishes in quite hot water so my hands swell with that anyway

I'm a little but not a lot closer to being organised for this one's arrival. I'm nearly 37 weeks pregnant and as yet have done nothing towards getting clothes ready! At the moment I think they are stuffed in a box and/or in a drawer and will need to be washed before they can be used. I'm planning that to happen the week before I'm due! Hopefully nothing happens between now and then as hubby will be away until the 27th anyway

I have finally bought some small bits and pieces for delivery and post delivery - arnica, a sieve *giggle* and some maternity pads. I need to remember to get some aloe vera from my bro and SIL to put in the freezer ready to go and also arrange the car seat. We are planning to borrow their turnatot but its down at mum's for now and I'm not sure when she'll be back up and we're unlikely to go down. I'm currently considering other options that may result in us being able to keep all three kids in the second row for the time being at least

I've had a terrible week for sleep but am not sure whether it is the result of having so much on that I can't clear my mind or discomfort from pregnancy. Its most likely a combination. I do have the bed to myself again from tonight so will see if that makes a difference!

What a week!

Mayhem is one way to describe it! Thank goodness I wasted the day away last weekend because since then its been non-stop!

Monday was the usual work and daycare followed by hubby getting home from site. Oh how I was hanging out for some adult conversation in the evenings and someone who could eat a meal without spreading it all over the table and floor!

Tuesday was a kindy day so up and getting organised again. After kindy drop we had a list of things that we had to do and go through most of them before kindy pick up again at 1pm. I had to go on my own for pickup because hubby and Miss G were sleeping - oh to be able to sleep during the day again.

Wednesday was another kindy day and I can't even think of what we did to fill the very few hours then! Its an 11.30 pick up so a short morning. Home for lunch and then getting G to have a sleep and waiting for hubby to come home from work (yes, work on his "week" off) before heading off to visit a friend and have some maternity shots taken. Cant wait to see how they turn out. From there it was home again to have dinner (thank goodness for the slow cooker) and get ready to go out for a fabulous night with friends for my baby shower/blessingway

Speaking of which, it may seem odd to have this for a third baby but I have never had one for either of the girls and when one friend heard this she was pretty insistent that it must be done. It was only a few weeks prior that she had a belly casting for her second child which was also a wonderful evening. She got to bring along her new little bundle on Wednesday night and it was so lovely to hold a newborn again - even if it had only been 9 days since my last cuddle with one. So exciting to have all these tinies ones around us again

Thursday was kindy again and then making some Avon deliveries before my secondary midwife visit. We had enough time between getting home from kindy and my MW visit for hubby to vacuum the house - he was just packing away when they arrived! Back to pick up our beautiful big girl and home for lunch. Rest time again and then a wonderful trip to the pool where we all had a lovely relaxing time. It felt like our one and only chance all week to relax as a family and I think we all relished the time. We finished off there by sharing a soft drink and a box of chips

Of course, to throw a little more chaos into our day we had a call from the mulch people to ask if we were still after mulch. We had signed up for free mulch through our council about 3 months ago and just kept renewing our job. We ended up with 15 cubic metres.... rather a lot but we figured if we don't want to use it all then someone else will make use of some. After our wonderful pool trip hubby got into using some of it.... I think there is probably a quarter been moved so far! He spent about 3 hours working on it and our front garden desert does now look a bit better. I think its also helping to cool the front room although today would not be a good indicator as its a much cooler day anyway.

At 8.30 I insisted that enough was enough and it was time for us to actually spend some "us" time together - something we have had very little of all week. With him due to fly out early this morning it was our one and only opportunity. So after a shower we sat down and watched The Business of Being Born. At one point after a baby was born I glanced over and could see him all misty eyed *wub* But shhh.... I didn't just tell anyone else he can be a softy

Today has been a catch up day for the girls and I. Both of them are totally exhausted and we have a busy weekend as well. Gabriella is not long up from her sleep - she went down around 11.30 so slept for over 2 hours and in that time I got some work done and Ashleigh had some quiet time with a Hi-5 DVD or two.

I've done about 6 loads of washing and then had to pull them off the line as it threatened to rain so have to start using the dryer a bit later to finish them off. Thankfully with the strong breeze and fine conditions earlier a lot of it is pretty much dry - just as well seeing as I need the sheets etc to put back on A's bed!

I'm trying to find enough motivation to get the kitchen tidied up but am thinking it can wait and we'll have take away for dinner instead... as long as I don't have to get out of my PJs!

Wasting the day away

I sit here at 4.29 and wonder where the day has gone. I guess the answer is that a lot of it has gone with me spending time on here.

It has been a productive day - I've almost completed my list of tasks but I have had a lot of time sitting here in between tasks.

I think last night is to blame for the most part and my two adorabl e (and helpfulvm mvmmv - yes. there's one of them now) children. It seems that despite my best intentions of having an early night and catching up on some sleep they had other plans. Sure, they both went to bed okay and were settled by the time I headed to bed a bit before 9 but from 10.15 it was on. Round 1, Miss G - resettled and me back to bed. Round 2, Miss A, towel on wet patch in bed, change of clothes and me back to sleep. Midnight saw me up again and so we continued until about 4.30 am when it seemed that they were both happy to sleep and yet there I lay feeling edgy. Thankfully I did finally sleep but my plan of up to 9 hours of pure bliss sleep was reduced to possibly 6.5 hours of broken sleep, kids in my bed, kids not in my bed etc etc

I don't cope well with broken sleep at the best of times but when I'm 36 weeks pregnant and trying to get as much as I can between doing 74 point turns its even worse. I've just thrown today's plans to the wind and gone with it as much as possible. Unfortunatley Miss G decided to throw any plans of being something other than grumpy to the wind as well and despite being horrendously overtired still managed to reject a morning sleep. Thankfully a bite of lunch and a bit of a play and she finally settled.

Anyway, I have managed to tidy their room, put away washing from last week, remake A's bed (wet TWICE overnight - new record), put through about 7 loads of washing and get them out and tidy the kitchen to an extent. I need to get the washing in again tonight and hopefully put away and then I'll feel more on top. Pity the house is such a mess!

Now I must get on with dinner and tend to Miss G who is AGAIN upset.... I also need to get my head around how busy the next few days are going to be. Tomorrow is work as usual before daddy flies in and then Tuesday is kindy, shopping and other bits and pieces. Wednesday is fully booked now with kindy, then a maternity photo shoot and then my baby shower as well as hubby possibly having a friend over while I'm out. Thursday is kindy again, MW appt, predicted top of 40 degrees and a trip to the pool before Friday comes and hubby flies out again! The weekend sees us going to 2 birthday parties which will be lovely and then we're back to Monday again!

I just hope that this time hubby is home we get to spend more family time. We seem to always be rushing around trying to get things done for us or the house. Hopefully we can get those things out of the way on Tuesday while A is at kindy

So funny to watch

Gabriella is learning to jump. Her current trick is to launch herself into the air and fall onto her bottom. This is fine on the trampoline and results in many many giggles but not so great on our tiled floors

Its really very funny watching her on the trampoline because she can actually slightly get into the air now but she loves throwing herself around. Real little dare devil. Not really helped by a big sister who loves to be risky too..... wonder what chance the next one has of NOT being one!

The things they learn!

Once again I am amazed at our little girl. Gabriella has done some things this week that have left me thinking "how can she know that?!"

Lets start with the counting. She can count to AT LEAST 5! I knew she could count to 3 as she's heard that often enough with us counting for Ashleigh (time out counting) but earlier this week she started at 1 and just kept going! She also knows the names of other numbers but doesn't necessarily put them in order (ie throws in an 8 every so often) Obviously she is learning stuff at daycare as well!

A short while ago she was grizzling because she wanted to go outside and I scooped her up for a cuddle. She looked on the window sill and saw a bottle of bubble mixture that I had forgotten was even there and she immediately said "bubble"! I can't believe she would recognise it as we've not had bubbles out for ages. So we sat down on a mat and I blew some bubbles for her and she immediately started saying "pop" and trying to catch them! After that she amazed me again by blowing bubbles herself. Quite an impressive effort for one so minute!

And now I can hear her objecting to having a rest! She's so tired and grizzly that she won't make it through to dinner time in an hour let alone bedtime in about 3 hours! I'm not keen on her having a rest now but I think some quiet time will be ok.... knowing my luck she'll actually go to sleep!

Kindy photos!

It feels quite strange to even think but I'm actually a "school mum"! Is it sad that I've taken lots of photos on her first two days? Obviously, everyone takes photos on their first day but I found myself feeling compelled to take photos again this morning! It was helped a bit by her baby sister wearing a very cute little dress that was made for A when she was tiny that was in material I strongly associate with my own school dresses!

So this is first day of kindy. Starting the day by crossing off that final sleep on the countdown calendar

My very happy but far too grown up little lady all dressed and excited!

Even more excited when it was finally time to get her bag and get into the car ready to go.

And this morning, the two girls "together" - about as good as it gets for photos these days!

Today was the first day of having the whole class there and it seemed to have gone well. She was once again a very happy little girl when I picked her up although a little confused when she couldn't see Nan or G as I'd said we would all come back to pick her up. Luckily she quickly accepted that G was asleep in the car so Nan had stayed with her!

And now I have a "booklist" of sorts to complete. Just basic items like tissues etc that they ask all parents to provide. Super simple to shop for. Oh yeah, also have to go pay fees! Thankfully ours is a "cheap" kindy and it will be $40 for the year - cheaper than playgroup.

Kindy begins

And oh my gosh did our little girl love it! I suspect that some of her sleepless nights of late have been due to her being not only excited about kindy but also nervous at the same time. I think she may have been having a few little worry sessions

Last night before bed we talked about how it was her last sleep before she started kindy and she told me she wanted scrambled eggs for breakfast. It took a bit for her (well, both of them actually) to settle but then she had a wonderful night's sleep and woke around 7 this morning. Perfect - I was just getting out of the shower when she got up and it saved me having to wake her again!

One of the first things she said to me was that there were no more sleeps until kindy so I took a photo of her crossing off the last sleep on her countdown calendar *wub*

We then got onto making scrambled eggs and she had to help by "whiskering" the eggs. She then surprisingly ate a very good breakfast and started to get ready. I'm so glad I allowed plenty of time because she kept getting distracted by her excitement! We did have a moment of unhappiness when I did her hair - she didn't want it all tied up together but I reminded her again, as I had been doing the last few weeks in preparation for kindy, that her hair had to all be tied up for kindy and then nan told her how pretty she looked so she was fine!

We had plenty of time to pose for photos (which I will have to upload later) and then it was time for us to go.

Our arrival time was perfect as another little girl that she knew from playgroup arrived at the same time and we all walked in together. I think that may have made it easier on them both. I spent about half an hour then and then while A was doing a puzzle I told her that I'd be leaving when she finished that puzzle. A minute or so later I told her she just had 3 pieces to go and she responded with "then you can go" all matter of fact and unconcerned.

She finished the puzzle and I made a break for it. I'm so proud of myself - no tears as I had expected. I actually felt really proud of A and how happy she had been to stay there by herself but also knew she would be looking forward to us all going back to pick her up.

Pick up time today was 11.30 and I took nan and G with me to meet A. She was just so happy. SHe'd had a wonderful morning and has talked about it heaps since. She did lots of craft and drawing and had a play outside. Her teacher and teachers aid are both really lovely and had been floating around talking to all the kids with their parents during the free play period. I'm really looking forward to Thursday now because I know how much A loved it. We've been talking about when she goes again and then the week after that she goes for longer and more days. I told her it was Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and she responded with "and Friday and Saturday" When I told her it wasn't those days she went "dooohhhhh" *giggle*

So a very long and rambly way of saying that our little girl loves kindy. I hope the love of it continues for a long time

And it would seem that G loved being an only child for the morning too! She was so funny and cute. I can see her being the class clown when she gets to school

February already

Its amazing to think that yet another month is upon us - the month I've wanted to hurry up and come but also to drag in coming at the same time. In just 2 days our little girl starts kindy. Unbelievable that its nearly here after all that early confusion on when she would start

I still have a heap of stuff to do to get organised for her starting but I'm getting there. At least her school dress is in being washed as I type this! Second time through because it still feels REALLY starchy. I think I'll put it through the dryer to see if that helps to soften in....

I am finding it very hard to get motivated today and yet I know I have a heap of things to do. I guess a good starting point would be to list them all!

* Pack bags for daycare/work tomorrow
* Get washing through and dry.... 35 degree top predicted today so not sure about hanging it all out!
* Set up spare bedroom for mum - just need to make the bed now
* Prepare dinner for tomorrow night - the plan is tuna pasta bake
* Tidy and clean house.... clean might not happen but a quick sweep should suffice
* Label clothing, bag, hat etc for kindy
* Business work to do - invoice etc etc when hubby sends time sheet through
* Shredding documents... laundry basket FULL!

I know there is more but I just can't think at the moment. After a late night out (home around 9.30) both girls went straight to sleep only for A to wake at 2am a bit upset and confused. I spent ages in there trying to settle her and she kept telling me she "doesn't know how" to get back to sleep etc. I know that it was mostly pure exhaustion but it was awful to listen to. Thankfully I eventually managed to her to lay down again and stroked and drew on her back until she was dozy again. Luckily G stirred but settled again without fully waking. I had a restless night anyway with being sore from sitting on the ground and getting up and down at the beach! It was a lovely evening though so definitley worth it

So, I guess I had better start tackling my list!
