What a week!

Mayhem is one way to describe it! Thank goodness I wasted the day away last weekend because since then its been non-stop!

Monday was the usual work and daycare followed by hubby getting home from site. Oh how I was hanging out for some adult conversation in the evenings and someone who could eat a meal without spreading it all over the table and floor!

Tuesday was a kindy day so up and getting organised again. After kindy drop we had a list of things that we had to do and go through most of them before kindy pick up again at 1pm. I had to go on my own for pickup because hubby and Miss G were sleeping - oh to be able to sleep during the day again.

Wednesday was another kindy day and I can't even think of what we did to fill the very few hours then! Its an 11.30 pick up so a short morning. Home for lunch and then getting G to have a sleep and waiting for hubby to come home from work (yes, work on his "week" off) before heading off to visit a friend and have some maternity shots taken. Cant wait to see how they turn out. From there it was home again to have dinner (thank goodness for the slow cooker) and get ready to go out for a fabulous night with friends for my baby shower/blessingway

Speaking of which, it may seem odd to have this for a third baby but I have never had one for either of the girls and when one friend heard this she was pretty insistent that it must be done. It was only a few weeks prior that she had a belly casting for her second child which was also a wonderful evening. She got to bring along her new little bundle on Wednesday night and it was so lovely to hold a newborn again - even if it had only been 9 days since my last cuddle with one. So exciting to have all these tinies ones around us again

Thursday was kindy again and then making some Avon deliveries before my secondary midwife visit. We had enough time between getting home from kindy and my MW visit for hubby to vacuum the house - he was just packing away when they arrived! Back to pick up our beautiful big girl and home for lunch. Rest time again and then a wonderful trip to the pool where we all had a lovely relaxing time. It felt like our one and only chance all week to relax as a family and I think we all relished the time. We finished off there by sharing a soft drink and a box of chips

Of course, to throw a little more chaos into our day we had a call from the mulch people to ask if we were still after mulch. We had signed up for free mulch through our council about 3 months ago and just kept renewing our job. We ended up with 15 cubic metres.... rather a lot but we figured if we don't want to use it all then someone else will make use of some. After our wonderful pool trip hubby got into using some of it.... I think there is probably a quarter been moved so far! He spent about 3 hours working on it and our front garden desert does now look a bit better. I think its also helping to cool the front room although today would not be a good indicator as its a much cooler day anyway.

At 8.30 I insisted that enough was enough and it was time for us to actually spend some "us" time together - something we have had very little of all week. With him due to fly out early this morning it was our one and only opportunity. So after a shower we sat down and watched The Business of Being Born. At one point after a baby was born I glanced over and could see him all misty eyed *wub* But shhh.... I didn't just tell anyone else he can be a softy

Today has been a catch up day for the girls and I. Both of them are totally exhausted and we have a busy weekend as well. Gabriella is not long up from her sleep - she went down around 11.30 so slept for over 2 hours and in that time I got some work done and Ashleigh had some quiet time with a Hi-5 DVD or two.

I've done about 6 loads of washing and then had to pull them off the line as it threatened to rain so have to start using the dryer a bit later to finish them off. Thankfully with the strong breeze and fine conditions earlier a lot of it is pretty much dry - just as well seeing as I need the sheets etc to put back on A's bed!

I'm trying to find enough motivation to get the kitchen tidied up but am thinking it can wait and we'll have take away for dinner instead... as long as I don't have to get out of my PJs!
