The week that was.... definitely a ramble

So much for this blogging caper - the best of intentions and all.....

At least I have made it back

I had another midwife appt yesterday and as per usual a lovely session of chatting and a boring report back! Blood pressure still fantastic at 95/60, no swelling this week and all else going well. Seems that Bub has decided to continue with this engaging caper and was 2/5 above today.... Never had that happen with either of the girls so will be interesting to see when things actually start to happen. Technically we have anywhere between 1 and 3 weeks depending on due dates.

My MW was quite funny and kept "suggesting" that any time now would be good. I clearly told her and my student MW that NOTHING was happening until after the 27th. Please let that be the way it goes! LOL Hubby doesn't get back from site until then and I'd like to feel at least a little organised seeing as I've still done nothing towards preparing clothes etc and the cot is currently being used to store all manner of crap in our bedroom! We also don't have the second car seat yet but at least I have now spoken with mum about it! She'll bring it up whenever she comes up

So I now have the birth pool, something that Ashleigh has been asking about ALL week! She is so excited about the "bubba in your tummy's" arrival now. She keeps wanting to know when it will come and I've been explaining to her that it will be some time after daddy gets home - 7 sleeps for that now. I'm just hoping that she doesn't expect it to happen the instant he arrives!

I still have a few things to sort out ready for the birth but at least have some ticks on the list now. I know where some things are that I need to have ready so just need to put them all together in one place. I guess the other thing is to pack some sort of hospital bag. I think I'm avoiding doing it as its one of those psychological things - if its done then I might need it, if its not then all will be fine!

I did buy an outfit this week but the only one I could find was a girl one (I was looking in the el cheapo rack at Big W though) It does mean I need to find a boy outfit as well and then also something warm. Hubby reminded me though that it doesn't matter because their first outfit will be the same one both of their sisters wore after birth
And I was going to share photos but my external hard drive has decided to play games

Something else I need to dig out and get organised!

Last night I had an awful night. I went to bed probably over-full and couldn't settle. I then kept feeling like I was going to be sick and Mylanta, half a glass of milk and brushing my teeth made no difference. I kept settling back in bed again only to have to waddle as fast as I could back to the toilet. I had intended to take a bucket in with me but had forgotten by the time I left the loo again! I did eventually go to sleep and probably got almost 6 hours so am thankful the girls both decided to sleep last night. Have felt pretty crap all day today after waking with a headache and have had to contend with tantrums as well. So don't have the patience for that today.

Monday is my last day of work and therefore the girls' last day of daycare. I feel sad about it for Gabriella as I can see how much she is loving it. When I got there last Monday she was in the most fabulous mood and dancing away to the music they had on. She saw me come in and wasn't even phased that I was there! She was just happy to keep dancing. Ashleigh is ready to finish up though. For her, being told that Monday was daycare was a disappointment. She just wanted to go to kindy. It will be interesting to see how she goes this coming week with daycare on Monday then her first full day of kindy on Tuesday. Thankfully that won't happen again but I'm expecting a very tired girl by Tuesday night. Just have to hope the behaviour doesn't flair up again - today's 30 minute tantrum was hard enough to deal with

So I see my midwife again on Friday and we'll know more from there. I have everything crossed that Bub doesn't decide to make an arrival before then but am not too concerned as I'm sure they are still moving around a LOT. I have had quite a few times where I've not been able to sit comfortably because they are so high up in my ribs. I think finding them 2/5 above yesterday was just luck of the draw! Today they would probably be free again!
