The things they learn!

Once again I am amazed at our little girl. Gabriella has done some things this week that have left me thinking "how can she know that?!"

Lets start with the counting. She can count to AT LEAST 5! I knew she could count to 3 as she's heard that often enough with us counting for Ashleigh (time out counting) but earlier this week she started at 1 and just kept going! She also knows the names of other numbers but doesn't necessarily put them in order (ie throws in an 8 every so often) Obviously she is learning stuff at daycare as well!

A short while ago she was grizzling because she wanted to go outside and I scooped her up for a cuddle. She looked on the window sill and saw a bottle of bubble mixture that I had forgotten was even there and she immediately said "bubble"! I can't believe she would recognise it as we've not had bubbles out for ages. So we sat down on a mat and I blew some bubbles for her and she immediately started saying "pop" and trying to catch them! After that she amazed me again by blowing bubbles herself. Quite an impressive effort for one so minute!

And now I can hear her objecting to having a rest! She's so tired and grizzly that she won't make it through to dinner time in an hour let alone bedtime in about 3 hours! I'm not keen on her having a rest now but I think some quiet time will be ok.... knowing my luck she'll actually go to sleep!
