Yes YOU. All those fabulous women out there who are making amazing things at the moment. I've got my baking bug back again. I guess its just as well seeing as I have a party to cater for in a few weeks.
However, I am now even more than ever coveting a KitchenAid or similar. I've been wanting something like that for quite a few years now... probably since I first starting having kids birthday parties to bake for!
Each year our parties seem to get that much bigger and I need to make more and more food for more and more people. So far for Gabriella's birthday I've got about 30 people who have RSVP'd and about another 15-20 that I'm not sure on..... This was supposed to be "small" birthday party year!
Anyway, I bought a delicious cupcake recipe book a few weeks back and finally got around to giving it a go this morning. Lots of yummy recipes for cake and also various types of frosting. This morning I made quick choc cake recipe and it is divine! So light and fluffy but makes way more than the 15 cupcakes the recipe states. I ended up with 12 normal cupcakes and 20 mini cupcakes. I just need to get to the shops at some point and we can actually ice them - dark choc ganache with caramel top n fill mixed through it. Sounds divine
But... they'd be so much easier to make with a stand mixer ;)

ReplyDeleteDo love the kitchenaid though. It took a long time to convince myself I'd get go for my $$ but after 1 week - yep.. it's going be here for at least 20 years.
