I think I well and truly landed myself in that one by expecting a decent night after a day of lots of running around for the girls.
They went to bed at their normal times and were asleep almost instantly which should have been the first tip off abotu what was to come
Stephi woke around 11.50 so feed for her and back to bed. No drama there - you expect to be up with "tiny" ones
Gabi woke within minutes of Stephi going back to bed so I let her go for a bit and then went in, found her dummy and tried to put it back in. She snatched it off me and threw it on the floor so I picked it up again. Picked her up for a cuddle and tried giving her back her dummy again. No dice. Lots of cuddles then back into bed with an "its time for sleep - nigh nigh" and out I went.
Over the next hour I think I got up to her 4 times. To preserve some sanity I resorted to texting hubby so that he could share my pain. He offered a few ideas but for the most part it was just nice to know that I could vent.
After that hour of ups and downs I ended up getting up with her and spending some time sitting on the couch for some "bright light therapy" to see if that would help. By this stage she was getting snuffly and snotty so I contemplated giving her some Demazin but put her back to bed without it.
It wa another half hour of her carrying on before I gave in and resorted to the Demazin. She was finally asleep within 5 mins and thankfully so was I......
Until Ashleigh appeared in my room stating that she didn't have her water bottle in her bed so up I get and go find that for her and back to bed. Instantly asleep again. It must have been some time around 2.30 - 3 am by this point
I heard Gabi again briefly at some point after this but she settled again quickly and so did I
Then at 5.18am.... the phone rang! Just once but enough to wake me yet again
It wasn't that long after that when Stephi woke again and just as I was putting her back to bed the other two woke up. It was 6.35 and there begins my day
And here I was thinkign I was exhausted before. Not only am I fatigued from lack of sleep but my body aches from the tension I was feeling last night trying to get Gabi back to sleep.
Four more sleeps until hubby is home and hopefully i can catch up on some sleep
